John E. Winchester

Born December 1946 - Died November 2006

Father to Dean and Sam, Husband to Mary, Hunter. Fandom is split on their opinion of Mr. J. E. Winchester; was he a good father driven to less than ideal behaviour by circumstances beyond his control, or was he a failure, a man driven by his own desires, breaking his sons beyond repair?

Here at DtBJWB we're John fans - he wasn't a saint, certainly wasn't the best father in the world, but his boys loved him - still love him - and his loss has left them shattered and confused. He tried to protect them, and in so doing has left them less than completely prepared for what lies ahead.

It is our duty, therefore, to bring him back. Crossroad demons are not available when we ask them, that summoning ritual we found in the cornflakes doesn't seem to work, so we've been reduced to drink.
